Tally requests read access to your Google Classroom courses, coursework, and submissions. It requests write access only to post draft grades back to Classroom. There is no answer-key spreadsheet — you paste the quiz directly into Tally.
Student answers are processed in memory for the duration of a grading run and are not retained afterward. Tally's grading server never receives a student's name, email, or Classroom ID — only an anonymized answer paired with a random id generated in your browser. Rubrics you save to the shared library store your key points and question text — never student responses. Grading checkpoints used to resume an interrupted run are cleared once the run completes.
Short answers are sent, anonymized, to a trained AI model for grading and are not used to train any model. No student work is shared with any other third party, sold, or used for advertising. Nothing posts to a student's gradebook without you reviewing and publishing it. You can revoke Tally's access at any time from your Google Account permissions, which immediately stops all data access.
